COVID 19 – Customer Update 20 Mar 2020
It is with great sadness that we have to announce we are closing the doors, this is due to the current COVID-19 Virus. This has been the toughest week of our lives and was a very hard decision.
We all need to take responsibility for ourselves & listen to the Governement, we are putting the health and safety of our staff and guests 1st. We can all get though this as a nation if we stick together. We will be closing our doors on Sun 22 Mar at 11am. We hope this is only for a short time but will keep everyone updated of the situation.
The girls in the office have spent all winter getting our Schools, Families and Groups booked in for the season ahead and it’s just heart breaking to think Carrowmena will be like a ghost town for the next few months 🙈We have spent the past few months upgrading our sites for our guests going by their feedback over the past few years upgrading our glitchen, new toilets, new showers and lots of site work. We just hope that you all support small/local business and come visit us when we are up and running again.
For anyone who has booked Accommodation, Activities or Events we can reschedule you to a different date to enjoy your Carrowmena Experience later in the Season. This will be something to look forward to in the future.
Make the most of this time to spend with family, remember look after older neighbours, stay positive and safe and we look forward to seeing you all on the other side.
See below old post below as to what we where doing when we where opened!!
COVID-19 is the sort of extreme challenge that a country has to deal with once in a generation or so. We face challenges to the health of our loved ones, friends and colleagues, unique challenges for our customers and clients and to our own businesses all at the same time. These are unique and difficult times.
To minimise the threat, damage and disruption from COVID-19, we need to collaborate and support each other in a determined and innovative fashion. We’re committed to supporting you with regular, clear and timely communications. We’ll work with you to try to resolve issues as they arise, and we’ll aim to maintain levels of service as close to normal as possible.
What we are doing:
Over the past few days our staff have been busy deep cleaning the facilities and will continue to do so. We operate our Activities outside in the fresh air in small groups and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of Binevenagh. Our sleeping accommodation is inside with Hostel and groups get sole use of this. Glamping Pods & Bell Tents are privately booked. All accommodation is deep cleaned between each group/family. Our communal areas like toilets, showers, kitchen, dining rooms, lounge rooms are cleaned on a regular basis throughout the day and we ask groups to wash hands on entering and exiting the communal areas. We have a Catch it, Bin it, Kill it, approach and have signage around the site. Over the weekends we have been busy deep cleaning our facilities and continue to do on a daily basis.
We all need to take person responsibility for ourselves & others at this time. On arrival at Carrowmena we ask guests to sanitise their hands and fill out a Medical Form (even if not taking part in activities) as we require medical information for all of our guest on our premises. Signage around the site is a reminder for guests to wash their hands throughout the day especially after being in our communal areas. If any of our guests feel any of the symptoms coming on they must self isolate and seek Medical Advice.
Information is changing every hour and who knows what the future holds for everyone. Like I said ‘We are open for business and will continue to operate until Government has told us otherwise’ Our Activities take part outside in the fresh air in small groups. Our Glamping Pods and Bell Tents have lots of space around them away from other people.
We hope you can understand that as a small business in the Leisure Industry we (like many others) are feeling the effects. We are trying our best to facilitate requests but this is not always possible.
Also remember this is a time to all stick together and support friends and family, we will come out of this stronger than ever!!!
